Institutional methodology
Methodology
How professional review becomes documented, traceable, and defensible — for accountants, tax advisors, corporate services providers, compliance officers, risk officers, and family office professionals.
Methodology describes how professional review is structured. It does not replace judgment, provide legal or regulatory advice, or guarantee institutional outcomes.
Section
Methodology foundations
Why structured methodology exists for professional client files.
Why methodology exists
The challenge is not regulation alone — it is continuity of professional reasoning over time.
Professional firms face repeated reviews, documentation requests, and clarifications — and the risk of lost institutional memory. When reasoning lives only in email, conversation, or recollection, the file becomes hard to explain months or years later.
Review discipline and institutional memory
Established practices often build review processes, documentation standards, quality controls, and institutional memory over many years. Smaller firms frequently face comparable expectations from banks, compliance functions, and successors — without the same internal infrastructure.
Structured methodology does not replicate large-firm operations. It helps make professional review more consistent, traceable, and explainable within the firm's own context.
- Banks and institutions may revisit the same matter with new questions.
- Teams change; successors must understand prior conclusions.
- Compliance and partners expect explainable rationale — not only documents.
- Methodology is the discipline of structuring review so conclusions remain traceable and defensible.
Security addresses how information is protected. Governance addresses how accountability is preserved. Methodology addresses how professional review is structured.
Section
Structured review
Dimensions that organize professional review — not scoring, automation, or autonomous conclusions.
Structured review framework
Review is organized around dimensions commonly encountered in institutional and banking-facing file preparation.
Documentation consistency
Alignment between stated purposes, supporting records, and the narrative presented for review.
Ownership transparency
Clarity regarding structures, control, and beneficial ownership as they may be examined in institutional review.
Transaction context
How flows, sources, and economic rationale are described and supported — not isolated data points.
Banking interpretation indicators
Factors that may attract additional scrutiny in standard banking review — presented for human assessment, not automated scoring.
The framework structures what professionals examine. It does not produce ratings, approvals, or predictions about institutional decisions.

Record remains explainable
- Information — raw inputs are gathered within a defined matter and review context.
- Structured collection — answers and documents are organized for review, not scattered across channels.
- Review signals — material for interpretation is presented clearly; professionals decide what matters.
- Clarification — gaps are addressed through recorded questions and responses.
- Professional interpretation — licensed advisors apply judgment; the platform does not substitute for it.
- Documented rationale — conclusions are linked to what was known and reviewed at the time.
- Report — a structured artifact reflecting prior steps; not a substitute for the underlying record.
- Archive — review cycles and commentary support institutional memory where configured.
- Future review — successors, compliance teams, or institutions can follow reasoning without reconstructing it from memory alone.
Documentation survives scrutiny when each stage remains attributable, readable, and connected to human professional responsibility.

Banking interpretation
How institutional review logic is reflected in structured professional review.
Banking interpretation perspective
Institutions review structures, flows, and documentation through established patterns. Methodology reflects that review logic for professional preparation.
These topics describe areas commonly examined in enhanced due diligence and onboarding-related review. They support professional preparation. Approval remains with the reviewing institution.
- Enhanced due diligence — factors that may prompt additional scrutiny during institutional review.
- Source of funds review — how origins of wealth and fund flows are documented and explained.
- Ownership transparency — clarity regarding ultimate beneficial owners and control arrangements.
- Cross-border complexity — multi-jurisdictional structures and how they may be examined in review.
Well-structured records may facilitate professional explanation; they do not determine institutional decisions.

Accountability & reference
Human responsibility and the external practices that inform review structure.
Human accountability
Professional conclusions remain human. Methodology supports consistency, traceability, and reviewability. It does not replace professional judgment, legal advice, tax advice, or compliance responsibility. Advisors and firms remain accountable for client advice and institutional engagement.
Reference frameworks
Aurimen's proprietary banking-readiness framework is informed by publicly available AML/CFT principles, FATF recommendations, international banking documentation practices, and risk-based documentation patterns common in institutional file preparation. Aurimen is not an AML screening or monitoring tool.
Reference to these practices describes analytical orientation only. It does not imply regulator approval, third-party endorsement, or certification. Firms apply their own licensing, policies, and standards.

Scope & institutional architecture
What methodology supports, what it does not do, and how it relates to Security and Governance.
Scope and limitations
Methodology supports
Structured review, documented rationale, traceability across workflow stages, and defensible professional records.
Methodology does not provide
Legal advice, tax advice, regulatory advice, or autonomous professional conclusions.
No outcome guarantees
Methodology does not guarantee bank onboarding, compliance outcomes, or institutional approval.
No substitution
Methodology does not replace professional judgment or firm-level governance obligations.
- Outputs describe structured reasoning and review context — not binding advice.
- Applicability varies by institution, jurisdiction, and client circumstances.
- Qualified practitioners remain responsible for specific situations.
Benchmark & Observatory Methodology
How aggregated observations are compiled — and what will not be published.
Aurimen maintains a benchmark and observatory layer to identify recurring patterns across submitted questionnaires and, where voluntarily provided, structured follow-up on post-report outcomes. Its purpose is methodological improvement and educational insight — including clearer understanding of how documentation gaps and review friction tend to surface in practice. It does not score, rank, approve, reject, or evaluate individual clients, advisors, firms, or businesses.
Compilation and privacy
- Observations use aggregated and anonymised data.
- Individual submissions, client-specific information, and individual benchmark records are not sold, shared, or published.
- Only non-individualised, aggregated observations may be published.
Interpretation discipline
- Small samples must be interpreted cautiously; early observations are directional, not definitive.
- Aggregated patterns describe tendencies in the dataset. They do not predict how a specific institution will act in an individual matter.
- Aurimen does not claim regulatory endorsement, scientific validation, statistical significance, or predictive accuracy.
These principles define a conservative approach: publish only aggregates where justified, interpret cautiously while samples remain limited, and use directional insight for methodological improvement. Professional judgment and institutional decision-making remain outside Aurimen.
Security, governance & methodology
Three complementary disciplines support one coherent professional review architecture.
Security
How information is protected through access controls, workspace isolation, auditability, and operational safeguards.
Governance
How accountability is preserved through defined roles, review history, professional judgment, and firm responsibility.
Methodology
How professional review is structured from information collection to documented rationale, review record, and future continuity.
Together, these disciplines form one coherent Aurimen operating architecture. They are described across the Security, Governance, and Methodology materials — not as independent marketing themes.
Important
This page describes methodology design principles for the Aurimen platform. It does not constitute legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory advice, a contractual commitment, or a guarantee of institutional outcomes. Firms should align platform use with their own policies, licenses, and professional obligations.
